  • What do you look for in a job?

I'm sure that it is on everyone's mind these days. Should I go back to  work or should I just wait? These days it is hard enough to find a job, but to find a job that includes all that you are looking for is another story.

Flexibility -  I love being able to schedule my own hours.  There are certain times when it is better for me to work.  If it gives me time to spend with my family, it works for me. I want to be around when they need me.  Being able to re-schedule is a wonderful thing.  There are times when I can put more time in and some times when I need more time off, like in the summer when school is out. So, sometimes I can make more money or choose not to.

Making a Difference! - I want to do something that is important to the community, to a cause, to help children in need.  Improving the literacy level is important. Helping schools and libraries is important.  Building creativity and independence and love of reading is fabulous.

Make extra money - I want to be able to pay some of the bills and help out when I can.  Every little bit helps.  I want to be able to put aside some for education later.  When I think about how much college is going to cost in the next twelve years and after, it's scary.

What are some jobs that would suit someone who wants flexibility, wants to make a difference and earn some extra money?

  • What is the lamest excuse you've ever invented?

It's not one that I invented, but many people use it also.  Many people complain about the high cost of everything, but don't do anything about it.  There are lots of things that can be done if you really put your mind to it.  You have to get off your butt and just do it.  The excuse for many is that they don't have time.  If it is something that you will benefit from, make the time.  It may only take a few hours every week.  Make the time.  For example, you need to save on groceries.  Make the time to check the circulars, make a list and check for coupons.  If you have time to sit in front of the TV, you can make the time to save.  Another example, many complain about being stuck at home with no adult conversations.  Get off your butt and do something about it. Lots of things you can do. Make that change that you need.  Make time.
